In total, 57 students and 8 staff members from 10 partner universities across Europe participated in the event – University of Applied Sciences BFI Vienna, University of Kaiserslautern, UCLL, EPHEC University College, Heilbronn University of Applied Sciences, The Hague University of Applied Sciences, Munster Technological University (Cork Campus), Odisee University of Applied Sciences, Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences, and Université Paris Nord (Saint-Denis campus). Throughout the week, participants had the opportunity to enhance their professional knowledge as well as develop intercultural collaboration skills.
Prior to the on-site phase, from March 17 to 21, students participated in the virtual component of the BIP, where they gained a concise yet comprehensive overview of the theoretical foundations of leadership and company management. Participants explored various business functions and their role in overall operations, developed a strategic or “helicopter view” of the organisation, and strengthened positive thinking. In parallel, team-building activities were carried out to foster effective collaboration during the upcoming on-site simulation in Riga.
During the on-site BIP week, students took part in a variety of activities aimed at developing practical skills such as communication, teamwork, strategic thinking, and decision-making. These competencies are essential for any future professional in the fields of business and finance.
The programme “Leadership and Entrepreneurship” centred around a strategic management simulation game, where participants developed leadership and management skills by learning to communicate effectively, make decisions, and manage business processes in a simulated environment. Students worked in teams, enhanced their collaboration skills, and gained insight into various management functions, as well as strategy development and implementation in a competitive setting. The programme also included a virtual component, during which students acquired theoretical knowledge of leadership and management and participated in team-building activities.
Meanwhile, the programme “Goal” focused on the financial aspects of entrepreneurship. Through the simulation game, participants gained in-depth knowledge of financial planning, budgeting, investment strategies, and risk management. This hands-on approach enabled students to develop skills in making informed financial decisions and understanding their impact on a company’s long-term development. During the virtual component, students explored theoretical aspects of company management, developed a broader perspective on organisational operations, and understood the importance of different functions in overall business development.
As part of the cultural programme, participants enjoyed an engaging and dynamic day in Old Riga, taking part in a photo orientation challenge that encouraged teamwork, creativity, and exploration of the city.

The activities of the week further strengthened collaboration among participants, as students applied the knowledge gained during the simulation in a more dynamic and interactive environment, reinforcing both their analytical and teamwork skills.
The international environment provided participants not only with new knowledge but also with valuable networking opportunities, enabling them to connect with students and academic staff from different countries, exchange experiences, and explore diverse approaches to business education.
Thank you to all partners and participants for your active involvement and successful cooperation – together, we are building an international and modern study environment. See you at the next international events!
