Students at the BA School of Business and Finance of the University of Latvia actively engage in promoting financial literacy both during their studies and beyond. Their experience reflects a combination of academic knowledge and practical skills, helping them understand the value of money, budget planning, investment decisions, and responsible financial behaviour.

The study process incorporates real financial examples, including budget analysis, tax calculations, and behavioural economics models. Students also develop research on societal financial habits, including:

  • Financial wellbeing – a study on people’s feelings about their finances
  • Digital financial literacy – focusing on safety and competence in digital transactions
  • Generation Z habits – fostering responsible financial behaviour among young people
  • Behavioural economics – examining how habits and emotions influence financial decisions
