The Financial Services and Compliance Laboratory (FSC Lab) is a laboratory of the BA School of Business and Finance of the University of Latvia (until 31 August 2025 – the School of Business and Finance). It was established by a decision of the Senate on 31 May 2016 to conduct research, develop platforms for social dialogue, and provide tailored professional development activities on current topics in the financial services sector, including compliance risks and control systems.
The main activities of the laboratory include:
- conducting research in the fields of financial services development and compliance (both for academic purposes and commissioned by public and private sector organizations);
- involving students in research and developing their research skills;
- contributing to the implementation and development of study programmes;
- designing and delivering continuing education and professional development courses;
- providing consultations and fostering discussion at both national and international levels on financial sector and compliance-related issues.
